Ep. 2: Escape Part 2
Updated: Jun 15, 2019
During the second half of Emma’s story we dive into what her new life is like after leaving her Mennonite community. Talking with Emma give me a look into what the modern world looks like from the perspective of a complete outsider.
Learning how to use a microwave, having running water, opening up a bank account or just walking on carpeted floors. These are all experiences I feel just have always been with me —Experiences I cannot recall any first times. But for Emma, she could recall all these firsts.
She was able to look at the world in a way I don’t believe many of us will ever get to. She has fantasized about what she believed the modern world would be like, versus the world she is now a part of.
Although it was brave of Emma to leave, it was even braver of her to stay and face all of her challenges. She has overcome so many things. Her ongoing story will inspire so many.
